Senior Planner

Beam Planning was founded in 2024 with the aim to illuminate the path and support our clients on their planning journey. Beam brings together four experienced directors who decided to start their own firm focused on working on the most important projects in NSW in a collaborative environment where excellence and innovation thrive. Our current projects include a range of planning proposals, policy development and advice, as well as local, regional and state significant development applications. 

  

We are looking for a Senior Planner to join our growing team. If you are passionate about planning, have a minimum of 3 years’ experience, excellent time management skills, and wish to continue your planning journey in a high performing consultancy, this is your chance to join an exciting new business from its inception.  

 

The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of the NSW planning system, and experience in various facets of the system. Quality communication and writing skills are also required for the role, as well as a willingness to continue learning and contributing to the growth of the consultancy. 

  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work directly with each director across a range of exciting projects, and the chance to manage other staff members. Day-to-day activities will include working closely with the directors to provide planning advice to clients, liaising with clients and consent authorities; writing Statement of Environmental Effects and Environmental Impact Statements; managing junior resources; reviewing, analysing, and summarising planning polices and legislation; and attending meetings and industry events. 

 

Key requirements for this role include: 

• A Tertiary qualification in Planning or related degree/discipline. 

• Minimum 3 years of planning experience.
